Teacher of the Week

                                                Mrs. Joyce Byrd, librarian

Joyce Byrd was born November 7, 1946 in Nyack, NY.  (That means she has a very special birthday this week!) She lives in Barrington with her husband.  Her two grown daughters are nearby.

 

Education and Experience: BS in Elem. Ed. from Gordon College

-         Taught 1st,2nd and 3rd grades 9 yrs. in public schools

-         Taught art her first 2 years at B.C.A.

-         18 years as B.C.A. librarian.  She teaches classes to grades K-6, runs the RATS (Reading All-Star Team Specialists) program grades 5-8, and coordinates the school’s Scholastic book club orders.

 

Hobbies (other than reading): gardening, refinishing old furniture, collecting fossils, and spending time with her granddaughter, Yalith.
