Thanks for visiting the BCA web-site.  We have a great school, and we want to help you get to know us!  Please visit the various pages on the site, and if you have any questions, feel free to email us.

Background
Barrington Christian Academy was founded in 1979 by the Barrington Baptist Church.  The school began with fifty students in grades 1-8.  Today, in 2008, our enrollment is 180 students in grades K-10.  We are now governed by an independent school board of eight members representing several area churches.  Our student body comes from over 20 communities in Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts and represents over 40 churches.  We received our accreditation from the Association of Christian Schools International in 1998 and added a new wing onto our building in 1999, allowing us to improve our educational facilities and expand our enrollment.  In 2005 we earned accreditation renewal from ACSI and also earned accreditation from the New England Association of Schools & Colleges.  We have just opened another new wing of our school to house our high school classes, a brand new library/media center, and a beautiful new music room to enhance our arts program.

Distinctives
BCA has earned a reputation for providing an excellent academic program.  Our faculty is dedicated to helping all of our students achieve to the best of their ability.  Our academic program is challenging and exciting.  Students are actively involved in the learning process.  Every area of the curriculum is taught from a Christian worldview, and God's truth is the foundation for everything that we teach.  With class size limited to twenty students, each student receives the personal attention and care that is vital to a successful learning environment.

The BCA community is one of the great strengths of our school.  Parents are very involved in every facet of the school, from the board of trustees to the classroom.  BCA views the education of students as a partnership between parents and the school, so we encourage parents to become involved in the children's education by being informed, supportive, available and involved in the life of our school.

The Board of Trustees has adopted a Strategic Plan for BCA that guides our school improvement process.  We are continually striving to become the very best school that we can be.  Our administrative structure, which provides division principals who assist the head of school by leading the instructional teams at their levels, has strengthened our school significantly.

We look forward to the opportunities that are available to us as we press on toward the goals that we believe God has set before us.
