SCHOOL
Barrington Christian Academy is an accredited, non-denominational, K-12 regional Christian day school. It serves 200 students from diverse backgrounds and ethnicity with 58 being high school students, 56 middle school students, and 86 lower school students. Five of the high school students are here as part of the international student program, coming from Vietnam, China and South Korea. Barrington Christian Academy is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Association of Christian Schools International and is licensed by the Rhode Island Department of Education. COMMUNITY Barrington Christian Academy, located in the town of Barrington, serves students from more than 20 Rhode Island and neighboring Massachusetts communities. FACILITIES BCA is housed in a 30,000 square foot building with three distinct wings for lower school, middle school and high school each with six classrooms. The divisions share a central multipurpose room used for lunch and various functions. There is also a beautiful library built in 2007 and shared by all divisions, as well as a music room, computer lab, art room and small project room shared by all levels. Cedar Hall houses a gymnasium used for all K-8 PE classes and middle school athletics. BCA currently rents space from Sherwood Multi-Sports Complex for basketball and leases other available fields for highs school soccer and track and field. The Barrington Baptist Church sanctuary is used for weekly chapels and special school productions, such as the Christmas and Spring programs. FACULTY The faculty consists of 38 men and women all holding bachelor's degrees, with 16 having earned masters degrees and one a PhD. Our head of school is a candidate in the EdD program at Columbia International University and anticipates completion of the program in 2013. BOARD OF TRUSTEES The Board of Trustees is comprised of 13 business leaders, parents and community members. |
