Day to Day at BCA
Look below for information, resources and links to all things parents need often. Let us know if there is anything else that would be helpful to have here.
8:10 a.m. – 3 p.m.
When we have inclement weather, you will receive a text when you sign up for Remind Text service letting you know if school is cancelled or delayed. We will also send an email to all parents.

All students may bring a nutritious morning snack each day. Please note there are no heating or cooling appliances available for student lunches. Our lunch program will provide hot and cold lunch options for students each day for $4 for regular size, $5.50 for large size, including milk. A link to the Lunch Order Form will be sent out to parents with a menu for an entire month. Payment can be dropped off at the front desk.
Students may also choose to bring a bag lunch. Milk may be purchased for $.50.
Please note that lunch orders are due on the due date to allow our lunch coordinator, Mrs. Jessi Ekholm enough time to coordinate the orders. Since lunches are ordered and paid for ahead of time, we are unable to give refunds for days missed due to student absences. If school is cancelled due to weather, there will be a credit given.
Children traveling from the following towns will be able to take public busing after parents register their children: Bristol, Warren, Central Falls, Cranston, Johnston, North Providence, Pawtucket, Providence, Barrington, Lincoln, East Providence and Smithfield.
Parents must register their child through the Trans Par group located HERE
Students traveling from Barrington, Lincoln, and East Providence must register with your town.
If your child will be riding the bus all year, it is best that they ride on the first day their bus is running, as bus drivers are getting their routes and timing is settled.
Drop-off and pick-up are only available in the large parking lot. Always drive slowly and carefully in the parking lot to ensure the safety of all students. ONLY buses are allowed to use the bus loop at the main entrance during pick-up and drop-off (7:30-8:30 a.m. & 2:30-3:45 p.m.).
Absences – Tardiness – Early Dismissal
Call the school (401) 246-0113 or email Mrs. Sutton email@example.com by 8:30 a.m. if your child will not be in school. Any unreported absences will be followed up with a phone call to the parents’ home or workplace.
Any student arriving after 8:15 a.m. must report to the office for a late slip before entering the classroom. Excessive tardiness will result in a detention served after school at the discretion of the division principal.
If a student must leave school before the end of the day, he/she must be signed out at the school office, and a parent must communicate the reason for the early dismissal. If someone other than a parent is authorized to pick up a child for early dismissal, a parent must communicate this in writing. ID’s will be checked.
The following are indications that a child should not attend school:
- Fever above 100 degrees F
- Vomiting or Diarrhea
- Strep Throat
- Contagious Diseases (Chicken pox, etc.)
- Head Lice
If prescription or over-the-counter medication is to be administered to a child during school hours, it must be brought to the school nurse’s office and must be in its original container with directions clearly marked. A written note must be filed in the school office prior to our nurse giving a child any kind of medication. The medication authorization form can be obtained in the school office.
