Mrs. Rachael Cannistraci grew up the oldest of five children and recalls being a “teacher” as early as her memory will take her.
She currently lives in Cranston, Rhode Island with her husband and dog Molly. They have two grown children. Lauren, 24, is a speech and language pathologist and Eric, 22, is in marketing and sales. Both Lauren and Eric attended West Bay Christian Academy in North Kingstown, where Mrs. Cannistraci worked for 11 years. She taught kindergarten, second grade and developed the WBCA Preschool, serving as director and lead teacher for two years.
After leaving WBCA, Mrs. Cannistraci worked at Blackstone Valley Prep, an inner city charter school serving Central Falls, Pawtucket, Lincoln and Cumberland. She taught kindergarten there for three years and mentored several new teachers as part of their first teaching experiences. Mrs. Cannistraci is currently teaching 2nd and 3rd grade here at BCA.
In her free time, Mrs. Cannistraci enjoys art, cooking and studying the Bible. She is thrilled to be back in a Christian environment where Christ is the center of education!
